Rusika lives with her parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Her parents struggle to provide for the family. Her father is a policeman. Despite their efforts, it is difficult to meet the family’s needs.<\/p>\n

Rusika is growing up in a poor community in India. A typical home is constructed using wood with a thatch roof and dirt floor. Rice is a staple of the local diet, and families may also eat vegetables, cereal and beans. Some communities are able to get meat, fish and prawns as well. Plains, hills and forests mark the land.<\/p>\n

Rusika is not in school at this time. She likes to play jumping games. She helps at home with the house cleaning.
