Build a $1M business in 90 days. No money. Start from zero… Sounds insane, right?
That was the challenge on a reality show I watched ..
During the 2021 lockdown in Hyderabad ,Undercover Billionaire, where billionaires try to build a $1M business from scratch.
I was hooked and binge watched the whole season in one day. More than entertainment, it felt like a personal challenge.
I kept asking myself ..
If I can build a million dollar business in 90 days with no money?
The idea was definitely insane, but worth a shot.
The thought wouldn’t leave me.
I slept on it for weeks,
until I finally decided to take it up….
The only question was: What should I build?
When your mind locks onto an idea,
everything you see starts revolving around it.
That’s when it clicked — Nearshore Talent Services in Mexico. A model that fit the challenge perfectly.
But it also raised tougher questions.
Could I build something from almost nothing,
in a country where I didn’t know anyone, didn’t speak the language, and while keeping the initial investment under $50K on purpose?
That’s when I decided to raise the stakes.
Instead of aiming for a million-dollar valuation,
I decided to aim for a million dollars in revenue within a year, with a tiny budget and zero network.
On October 16, 2021, I packed my bags and got on a flight to Guadalajara, Mexico.
New country , No contacts , Never spoke Spanish only with Just an idea and a 90-day timer ticking in my head.
Those early days were wild.
I spent hours walking the streets looking for a small office space.
→ Interviewed strangers who’d become my first hires.
→ Set up phone lines, websites, and systems from scratch.
→ Cooked my own South Indian meals in a foreign kitchen (Somehow that small act made me feel at home.)
Five weeks in, life tested me.
Outside our new office, someone ripped the gold chain off my neck sped away while I was on a call.
I froze, then walked back in, finished the meeting, and kept working. I was close to quitting, but pushed through.
By December, 60 days in,
I left Mexico … leaving the team to keep the mission alive.
I guided them remotely, watched them grow,
and knew deep down that we were onto something real.
A year later, we hit the number I’d written on a small sticky note the day I took the challenge: $1,000,000 in revenue.
When I flew back to Guadalajara to celebrate, walking into that same office felt surreal.
The same walls, same streets.
Only this time, filled with energy, laughter, and a team that believed in what we had built together.
That day, I realised something simple but powerful.
That’s how an idea becomes a million-dollar reality.
