Here is what 48 years of jumping without a net looks like.

Here is what 48 years of jumping without a net looks like.

Six companies. Six industries I had no business being in.

At 20 — landed in Sydney with two cheap suits and no idea how to hold a fork.
You do not have to look like you belong. Just keep showing up.

At 22 — worked all day, built my own thing at night. Everyone called it a side project.
It became my first cash-positive business. That is where I learned how money churns.

At 25 — lost everything overnight to fraud. Rebuilt in three months.
Losing it all is survivable. Quitting is not.

At 33 — sat in Harvard classrooms while my kids sat in first grade and preschool.
It is never too late to learn what you skipped.

At 34 — wrote a seven figure cheque to buy out a partner.
Get the agreement in writing before you need it.

At 38 — bought a finance company older than I was, grew the book ten times, exited clean.
Old businesses are not dead. They wait to be run properly.

None of it happened because I was ready.

I started before I felt ready. Before I was qualified. While everyone else waited for permission.

Six exits. Forty plus bets on other founders. One lesson I can never unlearn:

Paper money is valuation. Real money is cash in the bank.

I paid for that lesson in actual capital and actual years.

It is why I am building A Foundery in Princeton.
Find a real problem. Build a real offer. Earn a real paying customer.

No decks. No permission. Just the work.

What would you build if you stopped waiting to feel ready?
