Everyone I studied with went to engineering college. I went to work.

Eighteen years old, a diploma in computer engineering, and no money in the family for the next step. So I took a job paying Rs 1800 a month.

That was supposed to be the end of it.

Fourteen years later, two companies running, money no longer the question.
Daughter in first grade.
Son in preschool.
And a man with nothing left to prove went back to sit in a classroom.

Harvard Business School.

People assumed strategy. Network, credibility, positioning for whatever came next.

It was none of that. It was an eighteen year old who never got to finish.

Success does not close that.
Not revenue, not an exit, not a magazine cover.
Those were answers to a question nobody had asked me.

What I did not expect was the room.
People who had built real things, who said the true thing out loud, and who are still in my life more than a decade later.

Walked in for a certificate. Walked out with a community.

The unfinished thing got me through the door. It was never what kept me there.

Do you go back and finish what got away, or does building something bigger make it irrelevant?
