Do you think AI can replace Human learning curve and Knowledge ?
In today’s world, it is often argued that with the availability of Google and ChatGPT, humans no longer need to learn or remember anything. After all, any piece of factual information can be easily retrieved with a single query.
However, when attempting to comprehend multifaceted problems like global climate change and its effects on the world, understanding the scientific principles involved and the interrelated factors is crucial. While we may have access to a vast amount of information on the internet, this doesn’t mean that we should abandon our desire to learn and grow.
Factual information has standalone value and is a raw ingredient that helps to build our mental models. For example, knowing that 7×8=56 is useful for quick mental calculations. But more importantly, retaining factual information and formulas is still valuable because they help us to develop an intuitive understanding of complex concepts like multiplication or the physics behind climate change.
While we don’t need to know everything, retaining factual information is still valuable. If we simply rely on Google for everything, we will lack a deeper understanding of the world around us.
It is important to note that AI tools like ChatGPT and Google do not replace human understanding. While they can enhance our knowledge, they cannot replace the nuanced and contextual understanding that comes from human experience and learning. So, while we may have these tools at our disposal, it is still essential for humans to learn, grow, and nurture their knowledge.
As always, I’m here to share
