A few hundred founder meetings in ten weeks. Nobody brought a co-founder.

A few hundred founder meetings in ten weeks. Nobody brought a co-founder.

Almost every non technical founder walked in with a working MVP.

Not a deck.
Not a Figma file.
A product.
Built by them, on vibe coding tools, in weeks.
98 out of 100.

Two years ago that same founder would have spent six months hunting a technical co-founder, given up 30 to 40 percent of the company, and still been waiting for a demo.

In January at Davos, Dario Amodei said AI could take over most of a software engineer's work end to end within a year. Founders did not wait for the year. They already stopped asking for the engineer.

Here is the part that matters.

The technical co-founder was never the goal. The technical co-founder was how you got the first working thing. Now the first working thing is free.

So the seat next to you is empty again. And the founders I meet are filling it with execution. A seller. A domain expert. Or nobody at all.

The MVP used to be the proof. Now it is the entry fee. Proof has moved to the invoice.

Not deep tech. Business startups. The kind that live on a customer paying every month.

If you gave up 35 percent for a technical co-founder, what did that 35 percent actually buy you?

Do you read this as a ai companies taking responsibility, or as the letter to the sheriff?
